Exploring Spirituality in Social and Therapeutic Horticulture December 8th 6.00-7:15pm

Join us for our next Chartered Institute of Horticulture – Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) Special Interest Group network meeting, where we’ll be delving into the theme of spirituality and nature connection.

Our guest speaker, Rev Jules Middleton, is a vicar, writer, and outdoor enthusiast based
near the South Downs in West Sussex. Jules runs a garden church in her community garden, has guided her church to achieve a Silver Eco Church award, and is currently writing a new book for SPCK (Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge) titled Rewilding Your Spirit (due 2027). Her work explores the deep connections between God, nature, and the Bible, and how spiritual experiences can be nurtured outdoors.

Following Jules’ talk, there will be Q&A and a chance for  discussions where members can share reflections, experiences, and questions around spirituality in horticulture and therapeutic practice - whether that’s through personal belief, connection to the land, awe and reverence for the beauty and wonder of nature, or the shared sense of meaning that gardens can offer.

Open to members and non-members.

Free to members, £5 for non-members.
